I've been painting since I was a teenager. I give credit to my dad for dragging the whole family, since the time my siblings and I were little kids, to all those museums every time we visited a new city or country. Even a quiet Sunday afternoon at home would turn into a trip to the local modern museum. I never quite understood the impact of art until I began making it myself in my teenage years. And everything began to make sense to me. Art is a good thing. There is no world without art.
