I work with acrylic on paper and canvas. My current body of work is a mix of faces, landscapes, sports figures, still-lifes. Basically, whatever appeals to my sensibilities.I don’t believe in explaining and dissecting my work to bits. I’m of the opinion that overanalyzing art can be a total kill-joy. I prefer to let people have their own personal dialogue with my finished work and to leave it at that. Most of my portrait paintings are semi-imaginary and my clay sculptures are most definitely 100% imaginary.
I’ve been painting since I was a teenager. I give credit to my dad for dragging the whole family, since the time my siblings and I were little kids, to all those museums every time we visited a new city or country. Even a quiet Sunday afternoon at home would turn into a trip to the local modern museum. Art is a good thing and can be enjoyable most of the time. I think a world without art would be a very sad place indeed.
